Seventy feature films and four short film collections are slated for screenings in 2022’s NZIFF lineup, with the full programme announced today. Auckland will be the first to get a peek at the world’s latest film talent from 28 July to 7 August, before the rest of the country.
“We couldn’t be prouder of our 2022 programme – as well as having an outstanding collection of films from Aotearoa, our international selection is packed with award-winning, critically acclaimed films from all around the world. We look forward to presenting our programme to audiences around the country and we thank New Zealanders for their continued support of the festival,” says NZIFF General Manager Sally Woodfield.
Smithstreet’s very own Stevie has worked on two films featured in the festival: Post-Production Producing on the feature debut from Auckland writer-director Tom Levesque Shut Eye, and First Assistant Directing Bala Murali Shungade’s Fresh Shorts project Perianayaki, which will be featuring alongside four other shorts in New Zealand’s Best.
You can browse the full programme on the website (or download the PDF), and printed programmes will be available at festival venues in Auckland from Friday 8 July. Tickets for Auckland sessions will be on sale from Thursday 14 July.
